Cookie Policy

Draft status: Working draft pending legal review. Effective date: upon publication.

1. Scope

This policy covers cookies and local storage used on the DocuChat marketing site, the authenticated app, and support/analytics surfaces.

2. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies and local storage are small pieces of data stored in your browser. Some are essential to run the service; others help us understand usage or support marketing, and are used only with your consent.

3. Cookie categories

We use a shared category taxonomy across DocuChat:

  • Strictly necessary — authentication, security, load balancing, and remembering your consent choice. Always on.
  • Functional / preferences — language and interface settings.
  • Analytics / performance — usage analytics and error reporting, loaded only if you allow it.
  • Marketing / advertising — used only if introduced later; off by default until you consent.

4. Cookie inventory

The main cookies and local-storage keys used across DocuChat:

| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration | Party | Region | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | dc_consent | DocuChat | Stores your cookie consent choice and its version | Strictly necessary | Persistent (local storage) | First party | n/a (local storage) | | _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes users for usage analytics | Analytics / performance | 2 years | Third party | Loaded only after analytics consent | | _ga_* | Google Analytics | Persists analytics session state | Analytics / performance | 2 years | Third party | Loaded only after analytics consent | | Amplify / Cognito tokens | AWS Cognito (app) | Keeps you signed in to the authenticated app | Strictly necessary | Session / token lifetime | First party | Browser storage |

Analytics cookies load only where a Google Tag Manager container is configured and only after you grant analytics consent; they are absent by default.

5. How consent works

Our native consent banner lets you accept all, reject non-essential, or choose granular category controls. Your choice, its version, and a timestamp are stored so we can honor it and prompt you again if our policy changes. You can change or withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer. Withdrawing analytics consent takes effect on your next page load.

6. Essential-cookie exemption

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent because the service cannot function without them.

7. Browser controls

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of DocuChat from working.

8. Updates and contact

We will post updates here. Questions: docuchat@trouvaillesys.com.
